The evening- school is conducted for the special accommodationof those who are engaged during the day, and do not feel justifiedin neglecting their business or resigning situations to attend dayschool. Many through misfortune or other causes were requiredto take work early in life, even before they had learned much aboutgrammar, to read, write and spell fairly well, or to work ordinaryproblems in arithmetic. There are others of from fair to excellenteducation who are holding ordinary clerkships, or are engaged inother ordinary capacities, who with a term or two of special train-ing at our evening school could prepare for much more pleasantand better paying positions. To all the above classes the evening school of the CornwallCommercial College offers superior facilities. Ambitious youngmen and women are not willing to hold situations where there isno chance for advancement. But if they are not
