VASSAR, 2.07, HEAD OF THE Horse Department. PE2 While this department is small compared with the Jersey and BerkshireDepartments, it will be noticed that it is intensely select. There is probablyno handsomer, better bred or faster stallion than Vassar. He is a stronglymade horse, with plenty of bone and substance, and a countenance that indi-cates a large brain and intelligence of the very highest order. He has a fasterTace record than any other stallion that ever stood for service in New England. He is full brother to Belle Vara, race record 2.08 3-4, and Light Hall (3),12.25 8-4, the sire of Sprague Light, record 2.20% (4). In addition to thesehis dam also produced Georgetta, 2.27, making her dam of four with recordsfrom 2.07 to 2.27. *T8Vassar is inbred to both Eysdyks Hambletonian and Mambrino Chief.Through the dam of his sire he gets the valuable American Star Cross andthrough his own dam he gets a close cross of the old four-mile race horseLexington, whose name appears in pedigre
