THE Paintings of this Collection will be
sold without reserve. Our purpose in
bringing them to sale is to use the pro-
ceeds for the purchase of new examples abroad,
thus increasing the number of genuine Old
Masters in the United States, and thereby
directly adding to the art-wealth of the
country.
The beauty and quality of these examples
must be left to the judgment of each observer
and collector. The genuineness of every paint-
ing is fully guaranteed. With every example
will be delivered a card containing the fol-
lowing guarantee :
