Alt-he*2- Y/olfberrY. Althea—A fine tall-growing shrub that once planted isgood for a lifetime. Blooms when but a slip of a plant,but eventually reaches the size of a small tree. Alwaysa symmetrical upright grower, well clothed with a darkgreen foliage, and bears every year, without fail, a pro-fusion of large, showy double flowers that closely resem-ble Hollyhocks in shape and colors, but often larger insize. They bloom from midsummer until frost, at a timewhen few other shrubs are in bloom. Fine for cemeteryplanting or for growing unon the lawn. In Europe thisis the most popular of all flowering shrubs. Deutajia I/emoinei—This is the greatest recent novelty inflowering shrubs. It makes a low compact bush whichin June is loaded down with large, round, snow-ball-likeclusters of nure white flowers.
