Guilds' Perpetual Pea. A customer first sent, us seed of this remarkable Pea five years ago. We have grown it ever since, and the claims made for it have been fully justified. It is a strong grower, reaching a height of eight to ten feet if given proper sup- port- It begins bearing early and continues to grow, blos- som and ripen pods until killed by frost. Of course, exces- sive drouth or heat will check it at any period during the summer. Mrs. Delia Briggs, North Jay, Maine, who has grown it several years, writes as follows: "The Perpetual Peas you sent me to try last summer did finely. As fast as the pods got ripe and dry I picked them off and kept doing so until the end of September when it was so cold I picked the green ones and we had a mess for dinner the last day of September. I got six quarts of nice dry Peas from the ounce of seed you sent me." It is a good-sized, wrinkled Pea of the very finest qual- ity. Under adverse conditions a small per cent, may revert back to the round form. Pkt., 20c; 3 pkts. for 50c Pop Qovn, glack Bea^ty. This is a new Pop Corn of wonderful merit, popping ex- ceedingly large, pure white, flaky and very tender. The grain is a rich, blue-black color, a good-sized, long ear and very early. It is the finest Pop Corn we have ever tried. Pkt., 10c : pint, 50c. All that has been claimed by Luther Burbank for his new race of Spineless Fruiting Cacti has been proved to our en- tire satisfaction by many visits to his place during the past ten years and by the results obtained from his plants at our own grounds in Pasadena. These wonderful Cacti begin fruiting the second year from cuttings and when establish- ed produce ten to twenty tons of delicious fruit r>er acre. Fruit somewhat larger than a Seckel Pear and of a quality so very delicious that they equal or excel the best peaches, plums or pears ever grown. The seed here offered is saved from Mr. Burbanlc's finest named sorts, such as Actual, Opaline, Quillota, Elegant, etc Start seed under glass. It will germinate quickly and plants grow rapidly. It is prob- able that more or less of the seedlings wiil revert back to the spiny type. Pkt.. 25c
