English: Clee Hill summit. Nine years to the day since this photograph was taken 5713, the summit of Titterstone Clee and the nearby air traffic control infrastructure on a green morning, no snow this year.
While this is becoming a less free country by the month, it is worth noting that a hill top such as this would be fenced off and guarded by men with guns in most other European countries. I am getting tired of failing to visit summits in France because of similar installations on the top. There are similar installations on the high point of several Spanish islands too, with the same annoying consequences for the hill bagger. A less happy feature of the golf balls is that this is almost certainly a hazardous place to visit, the radiation is fierce. I always get bad headaches here, just like the ones that I get from spending too long on a mobile phone, but much worse. Not a hill I intend climbing often. |
