English: BOSTON - Cadet Heather Johanson (left), the master of ceremonies, pays tribute to former Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba shipmates as CDR Edward A. Westfall, the current commanding officer of the Escanaba, watches a wreath being presented aboard the cutter, June 13, 2010. Since the commissioning of the current Escanaba (WMEC 907), every year on the anniversary, the crew would gather for a remembrance of the first Escanaba and the commanding officer would contact Mr. Ray O'Malley and report that the crew is healthy, the ship is in excellent condition and the 'Spirit Lives On' until his passing on March 8, 2007.
