Summary[edit]

Description
English: Former southern siding, Collooney
Collooney was a fascinating spot for railways. It had been served by three railway companies – the Midland Great Western from Mullingar/Dublin, the Great Southern and Western (GS&WR) from Claremorris/Limerick and the Sligo, Leitrim and Northern Counties (SLNCR) from Manorhamilton/Enniskillen. The companies had separate stations. The GS&W and the SLNCR lines were connected by a siding (1895-1957) which served Pollexfen's flour mill. 25 years after closure the route was still visible at the western end.
