Description

"Command Visit: A gunner from the 81mm mortar section attached to see so much rank in the field. Vice Admiral William F. Bringle, commander of the US 7th Fleet, Lieutenant Colonel William F. Sparks, and Brigadier General John L. Williams, command general of the 9th Marine Amphibious Brigade, inspected the deployment of the Leathernecks conducting Operation Bold Mariner of the Batangan Peninsula in Vietnam (official USMC photo by Staff Sergeant Bob Jordan)."
