I worked adjasent to the Runway at Prestwick Airport between 1997 & 2012. Concorde definately landed there as I remember the roar of those 4 Olumpus Engines spooling up and it took that big old Bird a good length of the runway to take off.

English: Concorde at the Prestwick Airshow 1972 Looking northeast. The legendary aircraft did not land but made a low pass for the crowds.
Airport workers had the privilege of parking their vehicles close to the main runway - very unlikely to be allowed in the current insecure era. The crews of Concorde (and other airliners) were able to practice crosswind landings at Prestwick as it was not as busy in those days. |
