Summary
[edit]DescriptionConnaught Road Pumping station, Dover - geograph.org.uk - 297947.jpg |
English: Connaught Road Pumping station, Dover These buildings housed two triple expansion steam pumping engines. The bit on the left in shade still houses a somewhat rusty example commissioned in 1939. The right hand tall building housed an engine commissioned in 1954, making it the last steam pumping engine commissioned in England (unless you know different). This engine is now at the Forncett Industrial Steam Museum in Norfolk. Photograph taken on the occasion of a visit by ISSES - the International Stationary Steam Engine Society. |
