F. Adams of thesociety, adds one more to the long list of benevolences to becredited to the estate of the late Daniel B. Wesson. Thisgift is from the surviving children of Mr. Wesson, the directheirs to this property, and is in keeping with the philanthropicprovisions made by their father before his death and in hiswill. The mansion, a very palace in design and construction,costing a round million dollars, with its spacious grounds, anacre in extent, is ideally adapted to the purposes of an his-torical library and museum in which may be preserved thepriceless records and relics of the early history of the Connecti-cut valley and the no less important historical data of laterperiods.
