Connopus acervatus (Fr.) K.W. Hughes, Mather & R.H. Petersen Image location: Big Lagoon County Park, Humboldt Co., California, USA Growing in clusters on woody debris. Habitat mostly spruce. Caps up to 3.3 cm across. Spore print white, not amyloid. Spores ~ 5.0-6.1 X 2.2-3.0 microns, smooth, somewhat boat-shaped. Didn’t do any smell or crush tests. Spores seem unusually shaped and small for a Mycena, which eliminated many of the familiar candidates. Recognized by sight
