English: Staff Sgt. Ryan Sotelo, a platoon sergeant serving with Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, presents the Afghanistan Campaign Streamer to Col. Roger B. Turner, the 5th Marines commanding officer, during a battle colors rededication ceremony at the Camp San Mateo helicopter landing pad here, June 5, 2013. Marines serving with 5th Marines added the Afghanistan Campaign streamer and rededicated streamers from previous campaigns to the regiment’s battle colors in honor of their history during the ceremony. The Fighting Fifth will continue to honor their legacy to the Corps in the upcoming days by unveiling a memorial monument for the regiment’s Marines and sailors who sacrificed their lives during OEF. The regiment will also celebrate their 96th birthday, June 11. |
