English: Coruisk Memorial Hut. This is one of the first sights you see when getting off the boat for Loch Coruisk from Elgol (the loch is difficult to get to by land as it's surrounded by mountains). Further details of the hut can be found at: http://www.mech.gla.ac.uk/~donald/JMCS/Coruisk.html
I don't know the origins of the memorial hut, but there was a legendary battle in this area in 1395 and the bodies of the decimated MacLeod clan where reputed to have been piled high against a large rock known as the 'Bloody Stone' in grid square here: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/182988 |
