Summary[edit]
DescriptionCotehele House, South Front - geograph.org.uk - 1604431.jpg |
English: Cotehele House, South Front. A little afternoon sun was very welcome in this very wet autumn and has lit the doorway into the inner courtyard of this atmospheric house that sits on the edge of the Tamar Valley.
The house is open in December to display the magnificent traditional Christmas Garland, see 1604452. The house was built between 1485 and 1560 and was owned by the Edgecombe family until the National Trust received it in 1947. The family also used to own Mount Edgecombe, which is a house now set in a country park owned jointly by Plymouth City Council and Cornwall County Council. |
