[edit]DescriptionCross-bedding in Sandstone at Corrie in Arran.jpg |
English: Dune cross-bedding in Corrie Sandstone at Corrie, Arran, Scotland. The sandstone is of Permian age. The slanting lines are preserved foresets (fronts of the dune). The dune was travelling from left to right in this example. The sands were formed in the ancient deserts of Pangea (the super continent) when Scotland was just north of the equator.
