Acquisition Source laPlante, Kathleen F.
The souvenir booklet originally belonged to Louis P. la Plante, father-in-law of the donor. He worked in Montreal circa 1925-26, and it's believed he purchased the postcards at that time to take back to his home in Auburn, Massachusetts. The set included:
1 General view of Galt Park.
2 Crowd gathered in front of band stand in Galt park.
3 Harness race at Exhibition Grounds
4 North side of 4th Avenue South, looking east from 6th Street. Court house and City Offices visible.
5 View of the river valley and High Level Bridge
6 Cadets parading along 5th Street South between 3rd and 4th Avenue
7 Lethbridge Collieries, No. 6 Mine
8 north side of 3rd Avenue South near 8th Street. Wesley Church and Hull Block visible.
9 Traffic bridge across Oldman River
10 Galt Hospital, opened in 1910.
