Summary[edit]

Description
English: Croydon: Purley Way Looking north. Purley Way was opened in 1925 as a by-pass for Croydon and became part of the A23. But so much new building has occurred along the road as to make it unfit for purpose, and it now needs its own bypass. A strategic mistake was made with the M23, which should definitely have extended further north to Streatham Vale, as originally planned.
