English: Custom House, Plymouth Cherry & Pevsner give the date of David Laing's building as 1810; the listed buildign description gives 1820. "A particularly fine example of this building type" https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1386460 . It replaced the Old Custom House, which stands almost opposite. To the left on The Parade, is A E Monsen Ship Stores, an 1847 warehouse https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1386452 . |
