Description
Français : Cx de la sphère selon le Nombre de Reynolds (Reynolds basé sur le diamètre).

Le Cx est ici défini comme le quotient de la traînée par la Pression Dynamique de l'écoulement et la surface frontale de la sphère. La droite de la courbe met en lumière "la crise du Cx de la sphère" : il y a bien une brusque chute du Cx pour une faible augmentation du Reynolds. A gauche, pour les très faibles Reynolds, la courbe du Cx vient tangenter à la droite bleue, représentative du régime de Stokes.

Cette courbe du Cx a été tracée d'après les équations analytico-empiriques de Clift, Grace et Weber, équations qui dressent le bilan des mesures de traînée de sphères en souffleries, en chute "aérienne" ou en décantation dans divers fluides .
