Description
English: The arms were granted in 1969 and are based on the old arms of the Amt Freckenhorst. The arms are based on the old arms of the Lords of Vernhove, who held many possessions in the area. The colours are derived from the arms of the State of Münster, to which the area belonged. Blazon: Or, on a chief gules three mullets of the first.
Deutsch: Über einem goldenden (gelben) Schild im roten Schildhaupt drei goldene (gelbe) Sterne. Das Wappen basiert auf dem der Herren von Vernhove, welche früher zahlreiche Besitztümer in der Gegend um Freckenhorst hatten. Es wurde früher vom Amt Freckenhorst geführt. Die Farben des Wappen sind dem Wappen des Erbfürstentums Münster entnommen.
