Deutsch: Das heutige Wappenbild geht zurück auf den frühesten Abdruck des Siegels von Bürgermeister und Rat aus dem Jahr 1500, also etwa aus der Zeit der Verleihung der Marktprivilegien 1481. Der silberne Schrägbalken in Rot steht für das Hochstift Regensburg; die Herrschaft Wörth befand sich vom Mittelalter bis zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts im Besitz der Regensburger Fürstbischöfe. Der grüne Dreiberg mit den Sumpfpflanzen redet für den Ortsnamen Wörth, ein erhöhter Platz am Wasser, bewachsen mit Moorkolben oder Auwald. In Siegeln des 17. und 18. Jahrhunderts erscheinen statt der Sumpfpflanzen drei Laubbäume, in der Bürgermeistermedaille um 1819 und im 19. Jahrhundert sogar drei Nadelbäume (vgl. Wappenrelief von 1892 über dem Rathausbalkon). Verschiedene Deutungen der Bäume als Hinweis auf die Kultivierung des Tannenwaldes auf dem Herrnberg (Joseph R. Schuegraf) oder auf die Forstwirtschaft (Otto Hupp) sind ebenso wie der in neueren Gestaltungen häufig verwendete Schrägwellenbalken im Schildhaupt als Bezug zur Donau heraldisch nicht richtig. Wörth wurde 1954 zur Stadt erhoben. |
