English: The last Defense Meteorological Support Program (DMSP) satellite had been delivered and arrived to the Space and Missile System Center at Los Angeles Air Force Base on early dawn December 13, 2017. The critical weather –tracking defense satellite was now displayed behind a glass partition. “This display represents a nearly 60 year history of environmental monitoring success by a satellite constellation that continues to provide crucial weather information to our nation’s leaders, civil users, and warfighters” said Lt Gen John Thompson, SMC Commander and Air Force program executive officer for space.
