I've finally arrived a hotel I planed to stay in Liverpool. Yay! And I found a caution like this photo. I hear the UK people prefer to say things indirectly to avoid too strong emotions, while the US people prefer to say things straightly. Japanese people also prefer to say things indirectly, and I feel some kind of similarity between the UK and Japan. I liked this witty caution, they never say "Don't smoke here" but you can get what they wanted to say.

初日に泊まる予定だったリバプールのホテルに着いた！無事にホテルにたどり着けるとすごくほっとするものですね。 私が泊まったホテルでこんな注意書きを見つけました。和訳すると「火の無いところに煙は立ちません。火も煙もイヤなものですよね。ご協力ありがとうございます。」一言もここではタバコを吸うなと言っていないのに注目！トラブルを避けるために間接的な表現を好む日本と通じるものがありますね。この注意書きは気に入りました。
