| Description |
English: Dead centre line. The West Coast Main Line, as it leaves Wigan going south, passes between Ince Cemetery, on the left, and Wigan Cemetery, Ince, where the town's Crematorium is also sited. At about where the second pantograph poles are positioned the Pemberton Loop Line, by-passing Wigan on the Liverpool - Manchester run through Kirkby, used to cross. A new road is proposed which will use its track, so a new bridge may appear... but it was first mooted 60 years ago. |
