Summary
[edit]DescriptionDenmark Road, Reading - geograph.org.uk - 1075499.jpg |
English: Denmark Road, Reading The houses are typical of the area which has larger detached and semi-detached residences. The area was developed towards the end of the 19th century - part of the post-railway expansion of Reading. The post-box dates from the reign of George V. Denmark Road, like neighbouring Alexandra Road, was named in honour Princess (later Queen) Alexandra, the wife of Prince Edward (later Edward VII) and daughter of King Kristian IX of Denmark. |
