| Description |
English: Derwent Mouth Lock No 1 near Shardlow, Derbyshire This is the first lock on the Trent and Mersey Canal, and allows traffic from the river to the canal system. There is a coloured marker on the lock wall indicating whether it is safe to proceed down from the canal to the river. The first six locks are wide enough for two narrowboats to be accommodated side by side. |
