Marketer: the most popular of all slicing cucumbers Length of fruit inches NATIONAL ASSOCIATION PICKLING, b.s 6 A popular variety developed at the Michigan Agricultural College in collaboration with the National Pickle Packers' Association. Fruits dark green, symmetrical and full ended. Niagara, w.s 9 Bred by H. M. Munger of Cornell University, this recent introduction is very much of the Cubit type in vine and fruit but has high resistance to mosaic. Fruits very dark and uniform but sometimes inclined to curve. Ohio MR 17 b.s. 6 A new mosaic-tolerant pickling variety developed at the Ohio Experiment Station from crosses involving Chinese Long, Early Russian and National Association. Fruits closely resemble those of National Association, but are a little darker and longer. Highly, though not fully, resistant to mosaic, making good crops possible where mosaic is prevalent. PACKER, b.s 6 Bred at our Pacific Coast breeding station to provide a pickling cucumber of National Association type but blockier in shape and more uniformly dark green in color. High yielding and gives a very attractive pack. Palmetto, w.s 8 Developed by W. C. Barnes at Clemscn College, S. C, from a cross of Puerto Rico 40 x Cubit. Similar to Cubit but highly resistant to downy mildew. Producer, w.s (Ssqmw) Vine exceptionally prolific; fruits of National Association type but lighter in color. Diameter of fruit inches 2V2 2% 2y2 Days 56 60 56 2V2 2% 2% 56 67 54
