Brighton Grape Brighton. A cross between the Concord and Diana Hamburg. Bunch large and beauti- fully formed ; berries above medium to large size; usually of a red or Catawba color when first ripe, changing to reddish purple if allowed to hang long on the vine, covered with a blue bloom ; skin thin ; flesh tender, very sweet and of a fine and excellent flavor ; quality best as compared with the finest native grapes. The fruit keeps well for an early grape, either on or off the vine ; vine productive and vigorous. Champion, or Talman. Vine a strong, vigorous growers healthy, hardy, and productive ; bunch large; berries large, black ; quality poor, but profitable as a market grape because of its extreme earliness.
