Sacristy are thefamous tables given byAlfonso the Good to thishistoric church. They areof gilded silver without,and of gold within, andcovered with chisellingsencrusted with preciousstones. There, also, isthe great silver key, onthe wards of which is theinscription, God willopen and the King willenter. Underneath thering of this key are gravenships, lions, and castles.The custodians say thatthis was the key given bythe Moors to King Fer-dinand when they gaveup the city of Seville.There, too, is a majesticchandelier of bronze,which serves for the officeof the Holy Week whenthe streets of Seville aretransformed into a vastreligious fair, and when the hotels arethronged with visitors from the four quar-ters of the world. This chandelier is filledwith columns, caryatids, statues, and otherornaments in relief. In this Sacristy is theTabernacle, v-orth fifteen thousand or sixteen thousand dollars of our money.This is carried in the procession on theday of the festival of the Holy Sacrament.
