Description

In 1910 werd in het veen bij Helenaveen bovendien een verguld-zilveren Romeinse helm aangetroffen. Dichtbij de helm lagen ook wat persoonlijke bezittingen: Schoenen, Munten, Beslagstukken, ruiter spoor, fibula en klokjes. Deze helm is te bezichtigen in het Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden. Op de afbeelding ziet u een matige kopie van de originele helm.

In 1910, a silver-plated Roman helmet found in the peat at Helenaveen. Near the helmet were also some personal belongings: Shoes, Coins, Attachment Pieces, spurs, fibula and little bells. This helmet is on display in the Museum of Antiquities in Leiden.
