Description

English: Dr. John Lane, left, chief of the U.S. Geologic Survey, Office of Groundwater, Branch of Geophysics and Dr. Robert Horton, right, a USGS research geologist and petrophysics lab supervisor, discuss geophysics data with Dr. Gamal-Eldin Houssein, Director of water resources for Djibouti, at a conference center in Djibouti. Lane and Horton, in concert with Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, graduated more than 10 Djiboutian government employees after completing a five-day advanced geophysics course. CJTF-HOA's capacity building projects contribute to U.S. government efforts to promote clean water, functioning schools and improved medical facilities for a better quality of life.
