Horn (1827)emphasized the real absence of a trueparalysis, and spoke of an ataxia where-by this affection was different from otherforms of myelitis. Decker (1838) calledattention to the swaying and unsteadi-ness with closed eyes, which was takenup by Romberg three years later andrechristened Rombergs sign.
