Optic hallucinations are present in disorder of the optical endstations in the occipital lobe. When they show definite projectionsin space one can make an accurate localization of the portion of thelobe involved. This may be of great value in determining the siteof a tumor or abscess formation. The chief arterial supply of the posterior neurones is drawn fromthe calcarine branch of the posterior cerebral. The most occipitalportion is supplied by the median cerebral.
