English: Disused Limestone Quarry - Hope's Nose A popular location for fishermen who use the low lying rocks on the right of the picture whilst others use the grassed area for summer picnics.
Barges used to dock alongside the rocks on the right and from there the limestone would be transported where it was needed for building or for use in lime kilns or transported to industrial areas in the north for use in iron and steel production. |
