| Description |
English: Disused platforms - Halifax station. Following expansion in the 1880s Halifax station had six platforms. Currently only two platforms remain in use - the island platforms to the far right. The wide area on the disused third platform once had a canopy. This was still standing in 1989 - see Dr Neil Clifton's photo of the same part of the station from 1989: 676074. The remains of a fourth disused platform can be seen on the left. This would have continued right along the west facing frontage of the 1855 station building: 1025575. |
