Description

Nr. 21 der in der Dittwarer Ortschronik beschriebenen Bildstöcke und Denkmäler (siehe: Ortschronik).

In und um Dittwar befinden sich drei ganz ähnliche Pieta Darstellungen.

Dieser Bildstock steht am Weg zum Eisgrund am Rand des Stadtwaldes Steingrube, am Ende des Weges von der "Kühruh" zum "Brenne-Hölzle". Sie ist etwa 3,5 Meter hoch.

Inschrift: "O hl. Mutter: Drücke deines Sohnes Wunden So wie Du sie hast empfunden Tief in meine Seele ein!

Errichtet von Anton Holler im Jahre 1876"

Vermutlich stammen alle drei Bildstöcke aus einer Bildhauerwerkstatt Buscher in Gamburg.
