Description
English: Dover Castle pub (site of) 39, Rotherhithe Street, London, SE16 First recorded in 1767 and ceased trading as a pub in 1931, when the owner turned it into dining rooms that were destroyed by bombing in 1941. It would have stood where the tree and life buoy can be seen, adjacent to Kings Stairs that are the other side of the wall. Building shown is / was Braithwaite & Deans. There were about 6/8 other pubs within a 100 yard semi circle of this one.
