Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Drumjohn Valve At the head of the Galloway Hydroelectric Scheme, the valve was used to release water into the chain of rivers, lochs, dams and power stations making up the scheme. The pipeline behind the needle valve conducts water from an intake on the Water of Deugh to the West to Loch Doon to the east. When Drumjohn Power Station (alongside the valve) is not running, the water from the Deugh end flows onward for storage in Loch Doon. The needle valve is still in use and gets checked regularly.
