An EMP mobile training team composed of Captain (Navy) Mamadou Kane (Senegal), Commandant Felix Diallo (Mali) and Major Eric Cottenoir (Canada) were deployed to Gabon’s capital Libreville from 14th to 27th May 2011. This two-week mission was in assistance to the knowledge received by the 64 African officers belonging to either the Libreville Staff Officier School or the Application School of Military Health Services. These officers were from 15 countries : Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroun, Chad, Congo-Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Guinea-Conakry, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Republic of Central Africa, Senegal, and Togo. The aim of the course is to provide tools and practical knowledge to become a qualified member who can be deployed into one of the United Nations or African Union missions. EMP offers mobile training teams and adapted training modules for readiness training of units before their operational deployment and also assists National Staff Officer Schools (Cameroun, Gabon, Mali, Mauritania) with the PSO Modules part of the curriculum. |
