English: Teams from Applied Physical Sciences Corporation and the University of Michigan, and Environmental & Ship Motion Forecasting (ESMF) program prime contractors demonstrate the functionality of their designs during an at-sea demonstration of the ESMF aboard the Office of Naval Research (ONR)-sponsored research vessel (R/V) Melville. The ESMF program seeks to provide sea-based military and civilian ship and cargo system operators with seaway environmental forecasting, in order to predict ship motions and determine windows of opportunity for inter/intra ship material and personnel movement.
