English: Edinburgh Festival - of roadworks and chaos. How better to welcome visitors to a World Heritage site and popular summer destination? The trams are still coming. Meanwhile, the pavements are strewn with chewing gum, fag ends and litter [the bins have not been emptied for a few weeks], and many other streets are being excavated for one reason or another. For earlier scenes see 722729 [March 2008], and 1258167 [April 2009]. |
