Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Eggerness Point. On the rocky but moderately sheltered shore of Eggerness Point lichen zonation is prominent - an obvious black zone (Verrucaria Maura) exists but bands of the grey lichen (Ramalina spp.) and yellow lichen (Xanthoria spp.) less obvious at the top of the littoral zone (spray zone). The sheltered shore allows terrestrial salt tolerant plant species such as Thrift (Armeria maritima) and red fescue (Festuca Rubra) to grow.
