| Description |
English: Entrance to Southampton Docks Unfortunately this was as far as I got. I had hoped there would be something interesting to see in the docks, but I was politely turned back at the gate by the security staff. If I had been booked on a cruise, I would have been allowed in on the day of the cruise departure only, but otherwise the public are not admitted. Just inside the gate is the impressive six-storey Art Deco façade of the Solent Flour Mills, built in 1934 and now part of Rank Hovis Limited. For some reason the clock above the dock gate has no hands! |
