English: A notification (e-mail) sent by the Facebook in 2014 informing that the pages formerly operated by the Nokia Corporation would be renamed "Microsoft Lumia [REGION]". Note that in many cases native names were replaced with English names i.e. "Hrvatska" becoming "Croatia" and that "Français" became "Francais" for Nokia Canada's Facebook page becoming a Microsoft Lumia page. These changes happened after the Microsoft Corporation acquired the "Devices & Services" division(s) of the Nokia Corporation.
Also note that the Facebook page "Windows Phone" also became "Microsoft Lumia" despite this page also promoting non-Nokia smartphones from HTC, Huawei, Samsung, Etc. This image serves as an example of how corporate acquisitions can be expressed in "the consumer world" and how it would affect the presence of these companies on social media. |
