| Description |
English: Flat marshland. It often lies lower than the drains and rivers traversing it, sometimes even below sea level. This track, doubling as a public footpath, runs along the top of a dyke beside Hundred Stream (at left). A smaller drain, Sock Drain, separates it from the adjoining marsh pastures on the other side. The path starts by the staithe > 1098532 in West Somerton and links with Horsey Road further to the northeast. The white sails of the fully restored Horsey Mill > 1090282 can be seen in the distance (centre right). Footprints in the soft ground indicate that this area is grazed by cattle during the summer; in late December the pasture was empty of livestock. |
