| Description |
English: Forbury art work I guess this could be called an artwork. It stands at the northern side of One Forbury Square, a large office complex to the north-east of Reading town centre. It reads: "Forbury. Four is the number of creation and the symbol of nature. There are four corners of the earth, four seasons, four winds of heaven and the four elements: earth, fire, air and water."
Unfortunately it implies that the area called "Forbury" has some association with the number four. It doesn't, it is from the Saxon 'fore burgh' meaning meaning 'area in front of the town'. |
