No garden is complete without herbs for me- dicinal and culinary purposes; cut when dry just before they are in full bloom, dry quickly in the shade and pack clceely in tight boxes to exclude the air. Medicinal, for cats and babies 4c Coriander. Seed used in confectionery 4c Dill. Seeds aromatic and medicinal 4c *Fennel, Sweet. Seeds aromatic 4c Horelionnd. Used for medicinal purposes 4c ♦Lavender. Aromatic, medicinal 4c Marjoram, Sweet. Used for seasoning 4c ♦Rosemary. Aromatic seasoning 4c *Roe. Used for medicinal purposes 4c Saffron. Use, seasoning and medicinal. ♦Wormwood. Use, medicinal purposes Those marked ♦ are perennial, and when once established will remain for years with little care SPANISH PEANUTS. A new, very early and desirable variety that will mature in the T^orth and is easily grown. The stems of this sort grow upright instead of spreading, and yield a bountiful crop of fine nuts. If planted early in May they will be ready to harvest in September. Every boy ought to have a few peanuts to plant; to see how they grow. By mail, prepaid, pkt. 8c.; pt. 20c.; qt. 35c. By express or freight, pt. 15c.; qt. 25c. CHUFAS, Or Earth Almonds. A species of grass nut growing underground near the surface. Easily reached and much relished by pigs and poultry, on which they quickly fatten. As they have much the taste of almonds, they are liked by boys and girls. If seed is dry, soak before plant- ing. By mail, prepaid, pkt. 8c; lb. 35c. By ex- press or freight, pt. 15c.; qt. 25c. HONEY PLANTS. Spider Plant. This is claimed to be a won- derful honey producer, "yielding 60 gallons of honey per acre." The bloom is open and bees reap a rich harvest in the morning from 8 to 10 and in the evening after 5 p. m. from June to October. One ounce of seed will plant an acre. Seed should be sown in boxes and when plants are 2 or 3 inches high transplanted to open ground. Pkt. 8c.; oz. 40c. Arabis Alpina. See under head of Flower Seeds. Pkt. Sc. CURIOSITIES. Strawberry Spinach. Unique and novel; grows two feet high, with graceful branches bearing throughout the summer, numerous coral red berries resembling strawberries. Pkt. 5c. Vegetable Caterpillars. A creeping plant with small yellow flowers; the fruit closely re- sembles a caterpillar; odd and curious. Pkt. 10c PYItE THRUM. ROSEUM. Persian Insect Powder Plant. A hardy perennial, of easy culture, yielding a large quantity of flowers, which somewhat re- semble Ox Eye Daisy except color, this being rose color. The flowers are gathered when in full bloom, and dried, and when finely powdered they make the Genuine Persian Insect Powder, which is sold from 60 to 75 cents per pound, and often much adulterated. Anyone, by growing his own, can at a trifling expense keep his house free from Flies, Ants, Roaches. Fleas and Bedbugs. It is a beautiful, shcwy flower, as well as the most valuable insecticide.
