Summary[edit]

Description
English: Photograph of the Queensferry superstructure, showing arrangement of lifting platforms. Here we have the work at a stage shown by no other picture. The plates having been secured from a point a little to the left of the western columns, a good general view showing relative progress at Inchgarvie and Fife is also obtained. As an illustration of the arrangement of lifting platform already described, there is no other in the series to equal it, the upward progress not being sufficient to interfere with the perspective. Transcription from: Philip Phillips, 'The Forth Railway Bridge', Edinburgh, 1890.
